Company Girl Coffee 9/18/09

Wow! I missed a week...want to know what is really sad? I didn't realize it until today! Life has been a whirlwind of activity over the past couple of weeks.

I spoke at a women's retreat last weekend, forged a new friendship with a couple we just met, helped prepare a women's banquet for 160 people (with Michelle Duggar as the guest speaker), oh and debuted my budding business at the Northwest Arkansas Business Women's Conference. All of this while fighting off a pesky cold. I rock!

Seriously though, the push through the first part of the week seriously drained my physical energy, and I spent Wednesday and Thursday recovering (this is not such a good thing....now my house looks like a trade show exploded in it and I am existing in survival mode with the laundry....are you familiar with the survival mode setting on the washer? It's the one where you HAVE to put a load all the way through so the family will have clean undies in the morning.;)

Today is the first day that I have felt up to par and I am struggling with the overwhelm of all of the chaos. So I am starting with Small Things (thanks so much RachelAnne for your blog and your inspiration) and going from there. I hope you all have had a wonderfully productive week (minus the cold!) and can't wait to see what everyone is up to!

  2. I feel your choas! And bug color is black and brown, some tan, polka dot smudges all over our white siding in the front of the house because of the front porch light being on all night...all summer! lol

  4. Oh, my week has indeed been very productive, but sadly also involved the same cold. Do you think it's spreading through the internet? That would be an interesting concept. Oh, and please do share ways to not freak out at the idea of dark water! I'm counting down the days to Chincoteague with dread. LOL.

  5. Love the "survival" setting on the washer! Mine has been there many times...I DO wish they would come up with a timer that GENTLY alerted me when the washer is finished. The buzzer is obnoxious. Turning it off doesn't work either...Two days later, wet laundry sours. Yuck.

  8. By the way, I have to say Michelle Duggar is one of the most kind-hearted, authentic people I have ever met. I must admit that I had preconceived notions of her and her family going into this evening. She busted each one of them. She is sweet, generous and wonderful. I was truly blessed to meet her and hear her speak!

  9. Hi! It's nice to meet you and learn a little about you. :) Thanks for stopping in for coffee this week. I am an at home mom, so I try to keep up on the laundry here. It's hard to do with five kids...I find myself doing at least a load a day.

Enjoy your weekend. I hope your cold gets better soon.

  12. What a week! I hope you get to feeling better...nothing like having a ton to do without the physical strength to do it all.

I never thought of that setting on the wash machine, but now that I think about it, it makes perfect sense! Thanks for introducing me to a new term...perfect!
